Below is a list of resources we will be using for the 2019-2020 school year! I will add to it as we find new resources we love! You can check out my first post to see what we are using for Bible, history, and science here or follow along on Instagram to see each subject as it is posted!
LANGUAGE ARTS
- We are continuing to use The Good and The Beautiful Language Arts this year after discovering it and falling in love with it last year.
- We are also going to continue using written and oral narration because we have seen so much improvement in the children’s writing since we started it last year!
- I also went through The Good and The Beautiful’s Book List to choose some wholesome, living books for each of our kids to read this year. Here is what we are starting with:
3rd GRADE GIRL
- Sarah Plain and Tall
- The Courage of Sarah Noble
- Charlotte’s Web
- Calico *we may read this one together since it is a little above her grade/reading level
- The Princess in Black books (*these are not full of amazing character qualities but neither do they contain any negative elements – our daughter really enjoys them)
5th GRADE BOY
- Juddie
- Justin Morgan Had a Horse
- The Call of the Wild
- The Sign of the Beaver
- Squanto: Friend of the Pilgrims
- Stone Fox
- The Whipping Boy
- Jade Dragons
- The Big Wave & Ten and Twenty *part of his Language Arts curriculum
7th GRADE GIRL
- Sarah Plain and Tall
- Eveli and The Children’s Carol *two books in one
- The Tempest
- Caddie Woodlawn
- Island of the Blue Dolphins
- Esperanza Rising
- The Courage of Sarah Noble
FAMILY READ ALOUD
- For our family read aloud this year we are continuing to make our way through The Little House books. What precious memories reading together makes!
